Let Us Pray

We covet your prayers. Please join us in praying for all involved in the life of Christ on campus.

  • Gracious Father, Your Son grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and all people. Bless, guide, and govern the children and young people of Your Church by Your Holy Spirit, that they may grow in grace and in the knowledge of Your Word. Grant that they may serve You well and use¬fully, developing their talents not for their own sakes but to Your glory and for the welfare of their neighbor. Protect and defend them from all danger and harm, giving Your holy an¬gels charge over them; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. (“For Young Persons”, LSB p.315, Prayer 247)

  • Lord God heavenly Father, You provide schools and teachers for faithful instruction and dedicated learning. We beseech thee, that as students in those day schools, and especially in high school, continue to grow and learn, that You grant them your Holy Spirit, remind them continually of their Baptism, and grant them wisdom and discernment as they make choices about their future college or employment; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. text goes here

  • Almighty God, You have given us this land as our good heritage. Bless our land with honest industry, truthful education, and an honorable way of life. Save us from violence, discord and confusion, pride and arrogance, and from every evil course of action. Support us in the defense of our liberties, and give those to whom we have entrusted the authority of government, as well as our public universities, the spirit of wisdom, that there be justice, peace, and religious liberty for all, so that your name might continue to be proclaimed among us; through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen. (Adapted from “For the Nation,” (LSB, p.313, Prayer 224)

  • Almighty, Eternal God, You are the creator, preserver and multiplier of the human race. You gave the Garden to man to work and instituted marriage while Adam and Eve still dwelt in paradise. Let your Word dwell richly in all young people as You nurture the faith given them in Baptism and strengthened by Your Holy Supper. Let what they learn be employed in mature Christian service, and grant them wisdom to discern what is false and to hold on to what is true as they seek godly spouses and employment opportunities according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • Almighty and everlasting God, because You seek not the death but the life of all and You seek to draw all peoples until Yourself, hear our prayers for all those who are unbelieving international students in our midst, and all other students, staff and others on our nations campuses who have no right knowledge of You and are in need of the Gospel. Free them from their error and for the glory of Your name bring them into the fellowship of Your holy Church, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Adapted from LSB Altar Book p.408, Prayer 433)

  • Almighty and most merciful God, at this time of new beginnings, we pray Your blessing on all who are joined together on our nations campuses: students, faculty, and staff, and especially those who work to support our campus ministry at the University of Arizona. Grant that they may have wisdom as they proclaim the Gospel on campus and give them your grace that they may so work and study, think and pray, grow and relax together, that they may be more perfectly fitted to serve You and their neighbors in the work You have given them to do. Help them to look wide, fill them with high ideals, and give them love and good will to all people; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
